When constructing a permanent modular building as an alternative to traditional methods, it is built to the same standards required for all construction, yet when it comes to thermal bridging and air permeability, tests prove that on average, a factory-built modular or portable building, achieves less air leakage (between two and three m3 per hour, per m2 at 50 Pascals) – which in turn, increases overall carbon performance and provides a more sustainable building.
